About This Game The year is 2051. Location: SATAZIUS, a long-abandoned planet.The cruiser Agano was on patrol when it was attacked and stricken by a confederacy of space pirates that had established a base on SATAZIUS. Very classic. very very challenging. You're basically forced to play this game in windowed mode.There is an option to go fullscreen but the display is oversized and you lose at least 10% of the display outside the screen. A glaring oversight that should have been fixed (easily) long before release and still has not been fixed. The developers should be ashamed of themselves for this. For this reason I can't recommend this game.. A tough damn good horizontal scrolling shoot em up in the best traditions of Gradius\/R-type etc. Thumping amazing soundtrack, really good visuals and tight gameplay. Ok, I bought this game in a bundle I don't know how many months ago, So today I thought lets give it a try. The first thing that surprised me when I opened the game was that capcom was involved, probably as a publisher, but nontheless capcom. I started playing and started to look at all that is wrong about this game. You can crash into walls. you die almost all the time etc. However this game is brilliant, it is for people who can appreciate a good challenge. This game is quite hard, maybe im just bad at it but it is not for your casual gamer. The crude graphics and the cool gameplay allow for a great gaming experience. I don't recommend this to" casual "gamers who don't like shmups.. If you like these old school scrolling shooters like Darius check this out, very few cheep deaths, lots of weapons to choose from, lots of replay value, very fun.. I'm a huge fan of Gradius, and I mean a really huge fan, when I saw this game,. I wasn't expecting much, but I'll admit this is a good tribute to the series. This is a good Gradius clone with some mechanics added. For one thing you can alter your weapons in each of it's six stages. There's a good variety, especially the homing weapon which are the hunters from Thunder Force. The stages themselves are nice, but will challenge you as you progress, and it doesn't get easy on the higher difficulties. Graphica are good, and the music is good, especially the boss theme.This game has some of the Gradius features in them. It has bosses with cores you have to destrou, even a boss rush with those Zubs that appear and hone in on you, especially a secret boss on the boss rush on hard diffiuclt like Heaven's Gate from Gradius Gaiden. It even has a damn speed section that I always struggle on, as well as a walker on the last stage like in Gradius II. If you're a fan of Gradius, you'll love this.. Graphics are good. Music is decent. Good level design. Lots of different weapons, most of which are pretty cool and effective. Big boss battles. All in all, very reminiscent of Gradius games.So why do I not recommend it?Because if you can't play it properly, then the rest means nothing. This game forces you to use the analog stick with no option of using the Dpad. I've been a huge fan of shoot 'em ups since the NES days, and while I'm no expert, I am pretty darn good at them. In this game, however, I was dying from the simplest of things (things that the developers probably hadn't even intended to be a threat) merely because the analog stick makes it too difficult to maneuver your ship with precision. I see no reason to limit the directional controls in a 2D game to the analog stick. If a patch comes out that allows the directional controls to be changed to the Dpad, I will instantly change my rating to a thumbs up.
