About This Content On 1 September 1939, under the pretext of reclaiming the city of Danzig, German armed forces invade Poland. Honoring their diplomatic treaties and driven by the desire to maintain the balance of power in Europe, France and Great Britain swiftly declare war on Germany. This chain of events sets in motion the greatest war the world has ever seen: a Second World War.In the early years of the conflict, Germany display a successful incorporation of modern aircraft and tank technology into its traditional tactic of Bewegungskrieg. These tactics rely on deep penetrations by armoured forces, supported by aggressive air attacks and prove to be highly effective at encircling and finally destroying the enemy. Resulting in lightning fast victories, the new form of warfare is referred to as the Blitzkrieg.Set in this new theater of war, the new expansion for Order of Battle - WW2 puts the player in charge of the German Wehrmacht and Luftwaffe. Starting with the conquest of Poland, the campaign features the defeat of the Franco-British alliance on the western front, the invasion of the Soviet Union and finally the assault on Moscow in 1941.New Units and Nations! This expansion includes more than 140 new units, greatly expanding the unit rosters of Germany, France, Britain and the Soviet Union as well as adding several new minor nations to the game. Among the German units are the Panzer III and IV series, Bf109 and Fw190 fighter aircraft and powerful 88mm anti-aircraft guns, while the Allies have access to heavily armoured Matilda and Char B1 tanks, Spitfires, Hurricanes and unique Armoured Train units.Carry over your Core force between campaigns! Now it'll be possible to carry over your skilled and battle hardened soldiers from one campaign to the next one! Start with Blitzkrieg - and in the future export your core force to future campaigns involving the Wehrmacht!New Campaign & Specialization system!Play through a long series of blitzkrieg wars and forge your Wehrmacht in the flames of combat! Carry over troops from scenario to scenario, and choose your path using the new Specialization system: gain Specialization points by completing primary and secondary objectives and then spend them on Specializations such as powerful Waffen SS divisions or the Tank School or Auftragstaktik doctrine to gain an early advantage.MławaWarsawNorwayBelgiumFall RotDunkirkYugoslaviaGreeceMinskSmolenskKievMoscow 7aa9394dea Title: Order of Battle: BlitzkriegGenre: Simulation, StrategyDeveloper:The ArtistocratsPublisher:Slitherine Ltd.Release Date: 10 Nov, 2016 Order Of Battle: Blitzkrieg Download] [PC] Blitzkrieg is an interesting DLC for Order of Battle; it follows the German army from the invasion of Poland up to and including the abortive attempt to capture Moscow. The scenarios offer good variety and can be challenging, especially the assault through the Ardennes with the goal of encircling the British and French armies along the coast of Northern France (culminating in Dunkirk). Unlike Sandstorm, which includes hypothetical scenarios, in Blitzkrieg all scenarios are historical. The battles (along with the core force, which can be imported) continue in Panzerkrieg. The allied AI (present in the second scenario, the assault on Warsaw) can cause problems, as it has a very odd way of prioritizing targets and seems unable to coordinate its efforts with those of the player-controlled units, but thankfully its presence is limited in this one scenario (the allied AI controlling the Kriegsmarine task force in Norway, is far too strong and its assigned targets too limited to allow it to mess up and cause problems for the player). The enemy AI again seems intent on destroying any exposed-isolated player unit, which can be used as a "lure" to draw in strong enemy units (if one's willing to risk\/sacrifice a cheap or auxiliary unit). Also, for some reason the AI always attacks with its artillery pieces last, instead of first, to soften up the player units before the assault with infantry and tanks. These issues, however, do not detract too much from the game, the maps are very well designed and the enemy (especially in the last 4 scenarios, as the USSR) has enough units to put up some good resistance. Ardennes can turn into a nightmare for the general who would attack too quickly, while pretty much every scenario offers some interesting and rewarding secondary objective (usually timed), to keep things tense throughout and the player balancing the need for speed with the need to present an organized front.Overall, thanks to the variety of the missions and the historical development of the campaign, this is an interesting DLC, augmented by the fact that the battle continues in Panzerkrieg, carrying over the units from Blitzkrieg. Recommended. ORDER OF BATTLE: BLIZTKRIEG keeping alive the excellence of the OOB engine with blazing machine gun fire and potent tactical combat prowess.ORDER OF BATTLE: BLIZTKRIEG comes with a more intuitive interface then the classic legendary PANZER CORPS giving the player ease of use getting into the game mechanics with all their complexities without feeling overwhelmed.Specializations where you can focus on things like war economy, flight and or tank schools, specialized training. They all open up doors to other advantages such as war economy allowing you to have female factory labor, Tank School allowing for magnetron radar, forced labor, waffen ss etc.A very visceral visual presentation to the map, movement, combat bringing to life the world war 2 theater like no other wargame has in decades. Plenty of grim combat animations and battlefield wreckage with stunning audio work where bullets scream death in the distance and sirens wail as if mourning the fall of another faithful soldier.ORDER OF BATTLE: BLITZKRIEG dare you pay the admission price to fight in the littered battlefields of smoking wreckage where the air is thick with the smell of melted metal slag or will you cower in the trenches waiting for the bombs to drop? The choice is yours soldier.. I keep getting a message that to continue playing I need "Blitzkrieg", and it does not let me proceed. But I already have Blitzkrieg, as it sys on this page "In library". What a great strategy game! I love and totally recommend this one without any sort of reservations. If you are interested in strategy or world war 2 this is great.. Game crashes a lot. It also disappeared from my campaigns after I had purchased it as if I never bought it.. By far the best of the order of battle dlc'smassive scale for some battles in russiathe whole oob series has flaws and feels disjointed with different dlc following different criteriaif you only buy one dlc though this is the one to go for. I love the game in general, but this is the weakest of the DLC scenarios I've played due to the unbalanced difficulty level. I usually play on 3 stars and found with the other packs this offers a fair challenge, but in this it seems too tough. Against the Poles, which should be one of the easier beginning campaign missions I was seriously struggling, hordes of cavalry units coming out the forests destroying my panzer II's. The game doesn't allow you an adequate ammount of resource to deal with the amount of troops thrown at you; as well as this a lot of your forces are computer controlled units which are too passive. I would recommend the Marine Corp or Burma Road campaigns instead which are both excellent and offer a more balanced challenge.. Probably their best dlc yet but I do have a few complaints. Yes the Germans were outnumbered almost 2 to 1 in fall Gelb but my god it is frustrating as hell when you destroy a few belgian units and then they counter attack with an army 3 times your size. Also in the campaign the devs decided to make french and belgian tanks utterly broken. I remember playing the Ardennes and a renault R35 1v1 my panzer 3 and won. It triggered me so bad that the second I saw a bis B1 I decided to start over. I get that the bis B1 gave germans a little frustration but even in the first encounter they had with them the Germans routed them. However When R35s and H35s are able to penetrate and do damage to german panzer 3s and 4s it makes me more triggered then an SJW. And dont even get me started on those belgian tanks, their op af and make you want to drop kick your pc. And after you manage to kill freaking 85 units and the French morale is low and their best froces are destroyed, they get so many heavy tanks and infantry in fall rot. Then you reach yugoslavia which the Germans had an incredibily easy time conquering (howevering not maintaining their control over it) the scenario is so tough. I haven't gotten to barbarossa yet but i swear if the russian armor is made up of mostly KV-1s and t34\/57s im going to die. the majority of their armor was abysmal with very very very very few actual good tanks. I understand that this is not a Gary Grigsby's title but the Germans had an easy time conquering Poland, Norway, fall rot, balkans and USSR. I love OOB. This scenario pack however is not very good.First of all, you've probably played these scenarios over and over again on other games. They bring very little new to the table. The German invasion of Norway, played the exact same way, Oh joy. I was hoping they'd do something clever and give us an original twist to these well-played scenarios. They didn't.The second problem is that these are terribly balanced. While the original OOB had great, well balanced scenarios the ones here aren't that much fun. There's less room for movement and you're incredibly outnumbered. I was probably outnumbered 3 or 4 to 1 on the Ardennes scenario which is an absolute absurdity. In that scenario you have about 45 command points. The French and Belgs alone have 8-10 tanks at 6 command points each, never mind infantry, artillery and the like. It's not fun and it's not realistic. In short, original game = good. This scenario pack = absolute crap.
